The Redbud Echoes II (Diptych)

$2,000.00

Medium: Acrylic Ink on paper

Dimensions: 22 x30 inches

Two panels stand in quiet conversation, bound by the same language of form yet speaking in different tones of light. Abstracted branches and leaves unfold across fields of warm beige-gold, their olive hues soft and earthen, like something remembered from a distant season.

These works were inspired by an Eastern Redbud tree I passed each day on my walk home from work. As the seasons shifted, I watched its branches transform — leaves emerging, softening, deepening, and eventually quieting again. In that slow, natural rhythm, I found an unexpected sense of peace. The tree became a companion to that transition, marking the passage of time not with urgency, but with grace.

The branches here stretch with that same gentle certainty — not urgent, not restless — but rooted in a calm kind of presence. Each leaf feels like a breath suspended in time, a small moment of stillness held against a backdrop that glows with warmth and subtle radiance. The beige-gold ground evokes sunlight filtered through memory, a glow that feels both intimate and enduring.

Together, the twin works explore the quiet dualities of life — growth and rest, presence and recollection, movement and stillness. The olive tones carry the weight of endurance and peace, while the golden atmosphere offers a sense of reverence for the everyday beauty of simply being.

These paintings invite the viewer to stand between them, to feel the quiet rhythm that passes from one canvas to the other, and to recognize that life often unfolds in these paired moments — where what we live and what we remember are not separate, but gently intertwined.
